We have the power and mains water supplies but we do not have the waste pipe installed?
Most water heater installations require a waste facility, however it still may be possible to install the water heater please enquire!
I live in a low water pressure area, is this going to be an issue?
The water heater ideally requires mains water pressure to ensure flow rates are maintained, however it still may be possible to run this unit from other low pressure supplies, please enquire
The water supply we have available is from a header tank above is this suitable?
Yes this may be possible, as long at the minimum water pressure required by this particular water heater is met, please see product specifications for minimum water pressures
How many outlets will this water heater supply?
It is advised that you only supply two outlets maximum. The water heater will work with multiple outlets but not simultaneously, the water flow rates and desired temperature would not be achieved!
What is the warranty of the CEX Instantaneous water heater?
One year manufacturer’s onsite parts and labour warranty!
What is the power rating?
The CEX instant water heater has a power range of 7.2kW to 9.6kW, the power rating can easily bet set on installation!
What is the temperature range of this water heater?
The temperature range of the CEX water heater is 30C to 55C, this is adjusted via two touch pad membrane keys and the exact temperature will be shown digitally!
Can this water heater be programmed to remember my desired temperature?
Yes the CEX enables you to select up to two pre-programmed temperature settings!
Is this water heater suitable to supply a sink?
The CEX instant water heater will supply enough hot water for a sink, expect flow rates in the region of ~ 5l/min, based on a water inlet temp of 6C ~ 14C!
Is this water heater suitable to supply a bath?
No the CEX instant water heaters will NOT supply enough hot water quickly enough to fill a bath tub, expect flow rates in the region of 5 l/min. To supply a bath tub using an instant water heater you would need a three phase unit, please see the Zip DBX27kW instantaneous water heater 3 phase!
Can this water heater work with a solar heated water supply?
Yes the CEX instant water heaters are ideal for preheated water from a solar heating system. This water heater will work with incoming water temperatures of up to 70C. The flow sensor recognizes when hot water is being used and allows the heated water to pass through and will only heat the water if it drops below the set temperature!
Can the CEX instant water heater be installed under a cupboard?
Yes there is the option for under sink water heaters please see options!
Can this water heater be installed upside down?
No the CEX water heater must be installed the correct way up, there are options for under and over sink water heaters!
Is this water heater suitable to be used in a hair salon for hair washing?
Yes the CEX instant water heater will supply enough hot water for a hair washing. The flow rates required for each basin would be 2ltrs a minute therefore this instant water heater will supply >2 basin comfortably!
I have a 13amp power supply will this water heater be suitable?
No the CEX Instantaneous water heater on setting 7.2kW requires a 30amp and the 9.6kW setting requires a 40amp independent power supply!
Can you fit a UK plug to this water Heater?
No both the under and over sink water heater must be installed by a competent electrician and for safety reasons they must be wired to an independent power supply!
What is the water proof rating of this water heater?
The under sink is IPX4 and the over sink is rated at IPX5!
Will this water heater be suitable for wireless control?
Yes this water heater can be used with a wireless control see Zip ZL016 optional wireless controller!
Will this water heater be suitable for use with a shower?
Yes this water heater can be used to supply a shower!
Can i use this water heater with mixer taps or shower mixers?
Yes, this water heater is suitable for use with mixer taps or shower mixer supplies!
Can this water heaters be used with sensor taps?
Yes both the under and over sink water heaters can be used to supply sensor taps however the taps must have spray head nozzles fitted!
Can the CEX Instantaneous water heaters be used with open taps?
No the CEX instantaneous water heaters are not suitable for open taps, they should always be used with spray head taps!
What size cable do I need for the CEX Instantaneous water heaters?
The CEX instant water heaters require 10mm2 cable (minimum)
I have very high water pressure will this affect the water heaters performance?
The CEX Instantaneous water heater will control fluctuating water pressures ranging from 0.9bar up to 6bar if you are unsure of your cold water supply pressure you can ask your water supplier to check this for you free of charge!
I don’t have a mains water supply can I use this water heater if the water supply is from a header tank?
No the CEX range of instantaneous water heaters requires mains pressure only with a minimum inlet pressure of 0.9bar!
I have a problem with lime scale will this water heater be suitable?
The CEX ranges of water heaters are suitable for soft and hard water areas!

What pipe fittings do I need for the CEX Instantaneous water heater?
The pipe fittings are standard UK 15mm (½” BSP) pipe fittings. We supply fittings to enable a quick and easy installation!
I have limited space, can I have the CEX Instantaneous water heater fitted in a different room to my supply point?
We would recommend that the closer to the supply point the better however you can fit both the under and over sink water heater in an adjoining room or cupboard. We would recommend a maximum of 2 meters away from the intended supply point!
Can I install the CEX Instantaneous in an outbuilding that is not heated?
We do not recommend that the CEX Instantaneous water heater is installed in a room where it may be subject to freezing!
