3kW Infrared Soft Start Quartz Heating Controller

The Hyco soft start heating controllers have been designed to work with all makes of quartz halogen infrared heater and can control up to 3kW of quartz heating load for a pre-determined time adjustable from 1 to 99 minutes. The main purpose of the controllers is to save energy by ensuring that halogen heaters are only on when you need them to be.

Two models are available with either a manual push button or automatic PIR operation start mode. Both are weatherproof for outdoor use (IP65 rated).

Soft start functionality increases the power gradually over 2 to 3 seconds providing a reduction in the high inrush current that occurs when the lamps are first switched on from cold. This potentially extends quartz lamp life.

A separate temperature adjustment can be set to ensure that the heater will not switch on unless the ambient temperature is below the user pre-set level from 0 to 24C. With the temperature adjustment set to maximum the heater will always switch on.

Quartz heaters and controllers are ideal for heating applications in draughty or tall buildings such as warehouses, garages, pub outdoor spaces, smoking areas and many other difficult to heat situations where conventional heating would be impractical.

Push Button Model
Once activated by a push button the heating load will remain on for a pre-determined time adjustable from 1 to 99 minutes and can be switched off at any time using the push button.

PIR Model
Once the PIR is automatically activated by motion from up to 5m the heating load will remain on for a pre-determined time adjustable from 1 to 99 minutes. Continued motion resets the timer. An externally visible red LED indicates when motion is detected.
